When I was Technical Information Specialist in the Laboratory, I thoroughly enjoyed my frequent interaction with the customers. I found that I especially loved to supply them the information they needed in a timely fashion and then hear back from them how much I helped them out. In this way, I was adding value to the customers and the company at the same time. When I made a move into the Sales Group as Pricing Specialist, this customer interaction increased, and now I was problem-solving and helping them with their issues, as well as providing price quotations. I started selling product value when I was asked for product recommendations. I began to delve into margin management and market segmentation as a support person for the Sales Team. After earning my MBA, I felt ready to tackle the challenges of selling and managing customers as a Salesperson. If an opportunity in Sales presented itself, I would definitely want to consider it.
