I tried a foray into Sales. As a matter of fact, this was a post on my webpage in 2016:
"As the Technical Information Specialist in the Laboratory, I thoroughly enjoyed my frequent interaction with the customers. I found that I especially loved to supply them the information they needed in a timely fashion and then hear back from them how much I helped them out. In this way, I was adding value to the customers and the company at the same time. When I made the move into the Sales Group as the Pricing Specialist, this customer interaction increased, and now I was problem-solving and helping them with their issues, as well as providing price quotations. I started selling product value when I was asked for product recommendations. I began to delve into margin management and market segmentation as a support person for the Sales Team. After earning my MBA, I am ready to tackle the challenges of selling and managing customers as a Salesperson."
But, ultimately, this path was not for me. I had no real Sales experience and all companies are looking for experienced Salespeople. My experience is solid in Pricing for the Chemical Coatings field. It is where I perform at the top and add value to the company. I am delighted to be working for Dura Coat Products, an Axalta Coatings Systems company.
